Andre Rison ordered to pay $300,000 in child support case
Andre Rison, a former National Football League wide receiver, has been ordered by a federal judge to pay $300,000 in restitution for back child support owed to the mother of his child.
According to official documents, Rison did not pay child support for his now 13-year-old child between August 2008 and August 2011. During that time the payments added up to approximately $10,000. Rison was sentenced on Monday, and besides the restitution, he was also put on five years of probation.
Rison, who played for seven separate teams in the NFL, will also have to continue paying monthly child support payments on top of the large amount of restitution. Each month he is expected to pay $2,350 for his child, who currently resides in Phoenix, Arizona.
