California’s divorce rate below national standard
The Census Bureau has released a new report regarding marriage and divorce in the United States. According to the data, it was just as probable for the people residing in the state of California to get married than it was for people in any other state.
Marriage trends were tracked across the country and in California 19.1 men out of 1,000 were married in 2009 which was the exact average and 17.6 California women out of 1,000 were married with the national standard being 17.5 women.
The national average of men divorcing in 2009 was 9.2 and in California the rate was 8 people per 1,000. The report states that the national rate of divorce for women in the same year was 9.7 and women in California divorced at a rate of 8.9 out of 1,000.
