Dennis Rodman owes $860,000 in child support
Former NBA basketball player, Dennis Rodman, was found to be in contempt of court last November due to child support problems.
According to Rodman’s ex-wife, he is behind on child support payments by $860,000. Rodman’s attorney has told the press that his client is not behind at all on his payments, and that their documents will prove it in an upcoming court hearing. If that falls through, Rodman could potentially spend 20 days in jail.
Dennis has two children with his ex-wife, and in 2010 a judge ordered him to start paying $50,000 a month in child support and spousal support payments. That amount was later reduced to $4,500 a month. After his career with the NBA ended he was unable to continue to earn a large paycheck, and fell behind on the payments. Rodman has one other child, which he also pays child support for on a monthly basis.
