Ex-wife moves to strike divorce settlement with Dodger owner
Jamie McCourt, the ex-wife of Los Angeles Dodgers owner, has sought to amend her multi-million divorce settlement in favor of a bigger payout.
However, a lawyer for Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt has argued that the $131 million divorce settlement should be kept since there is no credibility to the allegations made by McCourt’s ex-wife.
Jamie McCourt, however, reasoned that she was misled as to the real net worth of the Dodgers and said she made a major mistake considering the team was sold for $2 billion.
Court records show that it was in October of 2010 when the couple’s marriage officially ended, just before the Dodgers filed for bankruptcy less than a year later. The court will have a final ruling on this case by summer.
