Florida Woman Steals Nearly $170,000 To Pay For Divorce
A Florida accountant has been arrested after it was discovered she’d stolen $169,822 from her employer over a three-year period. In March of 2012, 37-year-old Steffani Lariscy confessed to her employer and owner of Robbins Camper Sales in Ormond Beach, Florida that she had stolen after she was questioned regarding a $1,000 discrepancy that was discovered in the company’s bank statements.
According to the owner, the reason she took the money was to help pay for her divorce, furniture, and breast implants. Despite promising to repay the company, the owner contacted the authorities, and Lariscy fled. The investigation into the stolen funds lasted over a year when Lariscy was arrested on April 18th in Iredell County, North Carolina. During the investigation, her bank statements were subpoenaed and auditors later discovered she’d stolen just over $150,000 in camper sales and almost $19,000 in stolen parts. She has been charged with grand theft.
