More women paying child support, according to study
A recent study involving divorce lawyers throughout the United States reveals that more and more women are paying child support.
Out of the lawyers that were surveyed, 56 percent disclosed that they have seen a rise in mothers handling child support payments over the last three years. An increase in women paying alimony was also noted in the survey.
Several reasons for this jump have been documented, and one includes the shift of breadwinners in individual households. There are numerous households in America where women are the financial providers of the family, and therefore, they may be ordered to pay child support payments in the event of a divorce.
