New Jersey Man Arrested For Owing $137,000 In Child Support
55-year-old Frederick Scharnikow of Washington Township, New Jersey has been arrested for owing an estimated $137,000 in overdue child support payments. According to authorities, Scharnikow had been pulled over on the morning of Wednesday, March 27th, for a burned out tail light. The arresting officer, Adam Feichter, stated that he’d recognized Scharnikow from an arrest warrant that had been issued by the county of Sussex.
Scharnikow was immediately placed in custody and was transported to the Washington Township police headquarters. Afterwards, he was taken into custody by the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office. This isn’t the first issue Scharnikow has had with his overdue payments. During an October 2012 court appearance for driving while intoxicated, it was discovered he then owed just over $131,000 in payments. Police have yet to announce the specific charges he currently faces.
