Trial date for Kardashian divorce set in May
After only 72 days of being married, Kim Kardashian filed for a divorce from NBA player Kris Humphries in October of 2011. The trial date for the case has recently been set by Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon for only a month before she gives birth to her baby with Kanye West.
Humphries’ attorney Marshall Waller asked for an indefinite postponement of the trial until the NBA season is over, but two judges argued they were already given enough time to prepare and that other professionals, such as police officers, have to miss work for trials, so Humphries should expect to do the same.
Waller is still seeking access to 13,000 hours of footage from Kardashian’s reality shows to try to prove Humphries’ claim that their marriage was fraudulent based on the fact that it occurred only for the purpose of giving the reality TV show a high rating.
The trial, which is expected to last for five days, would publicize the extent of Kardashian’s reality show empire.
